Core Surgical Training

In December of your F2 year applications for Core Surgical Training open.

Core surgical training is one of the most popular medical specialties with over 1200 applicants applying for just over 600 jobs each year.

The interview is divided into three stations: management, portfolio and clinical.

ST3 Specialty Selection
Understanding what ST3 Orthopaedic Interview selection entails is key to getting started early and tailoring your CV to the person specification.

Each year upwards of 500 eligible applicants are interviewed for just over 100 national training numbered ST3 posts with places in the most popular deaneries even more competitive.

The current national selection format awards points for achievements in the domains of audit, presentation, publications, teaching and commitment to the specialty.

Ensuring you understand what ST3 Orthopaedic Interview Selection entails is vital so that you can start preparing early.

Both CT and ST3 selection will be looked at in more detail at FOSC 2014. There are also academic routes into trauma and orthopaedic training for those with an interest in research, though ACF posts at CT and ST3 level are limited.
